Advanced Supported Employment Services

Advanced Supported Employment Services

At Transition Community Services, our Advanced Supported Employment Services are built to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find meaningful, inclusive work that reflects their interests, talents, and goals. Our career experts help participants move from career exploration to sustainable employment in the competitive workforce.

Employment is more than a job; it’s a pathway to independence, self-confidence, and purpose. Our staff walks alongside individuals through every stage of the employment journey, offering one-on-one support tailored to their unique needs.

Key Support Areas:

Career Assessment
We begin with a specialized, person-centered evaluation to uncover vocational interests and strengths. Through discovery activities in varied environments, individuals gain insight into career paths that match their passions and abilities.

Job Searching
Participants are guided through all aspects of job preparation, including resume building, interview practice, and identifying suitable positions. We also help tailor employment by matching an individual’s abilities with an employer’s needs—sometimes through task reassignment, job sharing, or customized negotiations around job duties, compensation, and hours.

Job Guidance and Support
Our dedicated team provides direct on-the-job coaching and follow-along support. We ensure the participant is equipped for success and the employer has the tools to offer an inclusive, accessible workplace. This includes:

  • Training and orientation support
  • Accommodations and assistive technology
  • Understanding compensation and benefits
  • Ongoing skill-building for long-term success

Whether teaching someone to read to meet job requirements or advocating for tailored employment options, our staff is committed to helping every individual succeed and thrive in their chosen career.
